The condition in our collection listing indicates if the dispenser is Mint-In-Packaging (MIP), Mint-On-Card (MOC) or loose. Certain dispensers are found on special or limited-edition blister cards.
The patent number on a dispenser's stem can give clues to dating as lower patent numbers were issued earlier and are often older. The current patent number is #11.4 issued in 2023.
Feet were first introduced on stems in the US around 1987 to help the pez stand upright for display and to prevent rolling around on the conveyor belts in the factory (same reason
thumb tabs were added to the back of many heads). Almost no pez made prior to 1987 had feet; after 1987 most all pez produced have feet but there are exceptions, such as the retro mint regulars, trucks, psychedelic remakes, and any of the hearts. Feet were likely introduced in Europe a couple years prior to 1987, perhaps in test quantities.

Austria No Patent footless stems: Those are thought to be transitional around the time the #3.9 patent was issued, they're commonly found on the Bicentennials among others.
